Kia Nurse Is Building a Path for Canada’s Next Generation
Kia Nurse and her father Richard built Kia Nurse Elite to expand the opportunities available to young Canadian basketball players. By 2023, the program had grown to 13 teams spanning U12 through U17, with its oldest squad winning the Boo Williams Invitational unbeaten.
The program combines competition against leading American prospects with coaching, travel experience and exposure to college scouts. Nurse sees it as a way to help the next generation prepare for higher levels of basketball while staying connected to her Canadian roots.
